Best Hikes in Arizona February 28, 2022 Tori Jane What are some great easy hikes in Arizona? Arizona is home to more than 3,000 trails and at least a third of those are actually quite easy. They’re great for beginners or just for those days when even seasoned hikers feel like taking it easy, and they’re just as scenic as any of the more difficult hikes throughout the state. Some of our favorite easy hikes in Arizona include the world-famous Horseshoe Bend Trail, which leads hikers to one of Arizona’s most iconic and most-photographed landscapes and is just one and a half miles long. Sedona is an incredibly popular destination for hikers and spiritualists alike, and it’s home to many short but incredible trails, like the Seven Sacred Pools via Soldier’s Pass trail, a one-mile trek through legendary Sedona cliffs with views to die for, and the Devils Kitchen Trail, which isn’t even a half-mile long. While you’re in northern Arizona be sure to also check out Oak Creek Trail, which is breathtaking and spans just over a mile. What are some amazing scenic hikes in Arizona? Arizona might just be one of the most scenic places in the world. It’s almost impossible to decide which scenic hikes are the “best,” but it’s easy to list many right off the bat without much thought. Arizona is home to some of the most amazing hikes in the world, like the dangerous but rewarding Bright Angel Trail within the Grand Canyon. Another is the awe-inspiring Birthing Cave Trail in Coconino National Forest, which is a sacred site featuring amazing panoramic views of the surrounding wilderness. In the Superstition Wilderness, you can do the Wave Cave Trail, which is more than just cacti and caves – it’s an absurdly scenic hike filled with wonder and a lost mine! If you prefer to stay near Phoenix or the metro area, no worries; there are plenty of scenic urban hikes to take part in. Check out the Double Butte Loop Trail, at Papago Park, or the Big Butte Loop in the same place. Check out this list of 12 awesome Arizona hikes – one for each month of the year.
