Dining out can be fun! Restaurants with entertaining themes and niche locations are found all over the Tar Heel State. The Elvis restaurant in Swansboro and the Jolly Roger pirate-themed restaurant in Kill Devil Hills are awesome places to grab a bite to eat and enjoy the fun and entertaining theme of the eatery. In addition to those (and many more), there’s a unique grain silos restaurant in North Carolina and you’ll want to be sure to check it out the next time you’re near.

The Silos Restaurant is located in two converted grain silos adjoined by a reception area in the middle.

Google/Martin Brossman If you’ve ever been curious about what it’s like to be inside a grain silo, then here’s your chance to find out! The eatery is super casual and you’ll feel right at home.

Downstairs (yes, it has TWO floors), you’ll find the original silo wall carries into the interior decor, which is barn chic combined with a music theme.

TripAdvisor/Fernando R The restaurant regularly hosts live music events, both indoor and out back at their Red Rooster bar. The walls are lined with vintage LPs and LP covers and guitars are suspended over the stage.

Italian food is the specialty here.

The Silos Restaurant/Facebook The pizzas are hand made with generous toppings and the pasta comes out piping hot and delicious. Choose from Linquini, Angel Hair, and Tortelinni and then top it with your selection of entrees.

The wide menu features Italian favorites like Manicotti, Chicken Cannelloni, Chicken Parmesan, Pomodoro, Lobster Ravioli, and more.

Google/Tyler Quinn Get things started with Italian appetizers such as Bruchetta, Meatballs, Capresi Salad, and more. You really can’t go wrong with anything on this delightful menu.

For seating, the upstairs is considerably more casual than the downstairs.

TripAdvisor/SharonB2 Head up the staircase that winds around the perimeter of the inside of the silo and then find a cozy seat.

As you can imagine, the upstairs gets crowded on busy weekends, but the wait is totally worth it.

Google/Aenon E Mouse Either way, the menu is the same on both floors. Since The Silos Restaurant is open for lunch and dinner… you could have lunch downstairs… and then come back for dinner at one of the upstairs tables.

The next time you’re in the area (Oriental, NC) check out this unique restaurant located in two grain silos alongside the highway. And be sure to come hungry!
