Idaho’s sunsets are breathtaking. One of the best ways to enjoy these evening skies is on a beautiful hike. While there are dozens of hikes all across the state where you can capture some extraordinary sunsets, the popular publication Travel + Leisure recently named Idaho’s Snake River Canyon Rim Trail as one of the best sunset hikes in America. We aren’t surprised as this trail is gorgeous regardless of the time of day, but during the golden hour, it really shines.

The Snake River Canyon Rim Trail is an out-and-back trail near Twin Falls that you’ll want to explore.

This trail is paved, highly accessible, and 10-miles long. It’s the perfect family-friendly trail in Idaho.

Rick Bandon/AllTrails While the majority of this trail is easy and flat, be prepared for a few inclines. If using a wheelchair or pushing a stroller, these areas can become a bit challenging. Fortunately, there are picnic tables and benches all along this trail where you can rest and enjoy the views around you.

This trail takes you along the gorgeous Snake River Canyon and it is the perfect location for an evening stroll or a morning run. Don’t be surprised when you see many people hiking, running, and cycling on your adventure.

You can start your hike anywhere along the path but we recommend you begin at the Twin Falls Visitor Center.

The Snake River Canyon Rim Trail will also take you past the striking Shoshone Falls. These falls are 212-feet tall and 900-feet wide, even taller than Niagara Falls!
