One of the best things about spending time in Maine is the prevalence of secret little spots known only to those who have sought them out. And while we certainly don’t want to turn the small, untouched spots into major tourist attractions, we do want those who love this state to be able to enjoy the best parts of it. That’s why we couldn’t help but share this little hidden Maine waterfall in Oxford County.

Located about an hour and 15 minutes from Portland, Oxford County has lots of nature to explore, including one of our favorite natural attractions in the state.

As you get closer to the small brook you’ll see a natural pool of water that’s great for swimming in the summer. In the winter it’s likely to be a bit frozen.

In the summer it’s fun to jump in and swim towards the back where you’ll feel like you’re in your own world. In the winter the area is quiet and peaceful.
