Do you know the story behind Theorosa’s Bridge in Valley Center, Kansas? According to urban legend, a family of settlers was riding along in a wagon during the 19th-century when they were attacked by locals. It’s said that a baby named Theorosa was kidnapped, and to this day, her mother’s ghost continues to look for her.
However, like many tales, there’s more than one version. Another recap of the story of Theorosa’s Bridge claims that a mother had an unwanted child and tossed her over the bridge. Now, visitors claim to hear a mother and daughter crying. They’re also said to feel unusual cold spots and see random lights. Many people that have driven over the bridge have said that their car has stalled on the bridge too.
The bridge that stands in this spot today is in its third iteration — as the first two have burned down.
