Hidden alongside a rural road in the upstate of South Carolina is a wonderful little roadside attraction that’s guaranteed to make you do a double take, and even make a u-turn. Popular all year-round, it’s the kind of place you’ll go back to on the regular. Read on to learn why.

Affectionately known as Tiny Town, the attraction is open all year — and has a backstory that’ll melt your heart.

Google Maps Tiny Town began in 1974, when a devoted husband built a small version of a cabin in their yard for his wife to admire.

The cabin, as the story goes, represented one the two would love to have built in the wilds for their family.

From there, the couple (the Jennings, who passed away in 2009) kept on building, adding to their tiny town again and again.

But that’s not all.

For many locals, a visit to Tiny Town during the holidays is now an annual tradition.
