More and more, science is showing how beneficial being out in nature, seeing and walking among trees, and taking a break from the city is for our health. While any trees will lift your mood and give you a refreshing breath of air, this tunnel of trees on Tree Trail in Beavers Bend State Park in Oklahoma, is a step above the rest. At 1.2 miles, this easy and pleasant trail can be found near Broken Bow, Oklahoma, near the Arkansas border, and it is perfect for a quick morning or afternoon walk. If you’re in the area, lace up those shoes and hit the road for this wonderfully pleasant walk in the woods.
The trailhead for Tree Trail begins at the Forest Heritage Center Museum where you can stop in to see antique forestry tools, wood art, and their research library if you are interested after your walk.

The path is marked with white markers hanging from the trees, so be sure to keep an eye out when you are walking to be sure you stay on the path.

Don’t forget Scout! Dogs are welcome on this trail but must be kept on leash. Don’t be surprised if they choose to go for a swim in the refreshing waters of Beaver Creek that you will encounter on your walk.

During the walk, you will pass a Native American totem sculpture, as well as this lovely wooden bridge, which is a pleasant place to stop for some water and a snack.

The trees here really shade the trail, making it an easy and popular hike, especially during the warmer months. However, don’t be hesitant to venture out in the winter either!
