While you won’t find many places in the Treasure State that are unwelcoming—at least to visitors who don’t intend to stay forever—some spots are certainly friendlier than others. But believe it or not, last year, one of Montana’s cities was ranked as the friendliest in the entire country. According to the many Expedia travelers who voted, Whitefish is the friendliest city in Montana – and the U.S as a whole.
We all known that Whitefish’s location is pretty much perfect, especially for those who love outdoor recreation.

The city itself is also fantastic.

Whitefish certainly isn’t the same quiet, subdued spot it once was, but it still has a delightful small town vibe.

Perhaps it’s because the city and its location are so amazing, the locals can’t help but be friendly.

Of course, it’s entirely possible that those who work in the hospitality industry are friendly to strangers in hopes they’ll spend their vacation money at their business.

Whatever the reasons were for Whitefish winning such an award, there’s no denying that it’s a pretty great place to be.
