Indiana is a beautiful place to live and visit. No matter which corner you explore, you’re sure to find something magical that you’ll never forget. For example, you’ll find the southernmost tip of Lake Michigan in one of the northernmost points of the state (visit Marquette Park, in Gary, to experience that). The westernmost part of the state just so happens to land on the scenic, breathtaking Wabash River, which is always a pleasure to experience.
The Wabash River is a 503-mile long river that drains the vast majority of the Hoosier State.

Should you wander to the coordinates of 37°54′9″ N and 88°5′50.3″ W, you’ll find yourself at the single westernmost point of Indiana – and it just so happens to be right on this delightful river.

If you follow the river north from the westernmost point, you’ll eventually find yourself in places like New Harmony, Vincennes, Terre Haute and, of course, Wabash.
