Maine might not have the same topographical recognition as some states out west, but it still has a surprising amount of hills and mountains. That’s what makes Vacationland such a great place for hiking and exploring outside. It also makes it one of the best places in New England for exploring waterfalls. There are a number of wonderful falls to see, but many require hiking to find, but not all! This waterfall, located in Byron, can be accessed from the road, and it’s a summer highlight for many!
Coos Canyon can be found just off of Route 17 scenic highway.

Those more adventurous can try jumping from the surrounding rocks, though this requires a hike making it more difficult. Just be sure to exercise caution around the slippery rocks and falls.
