Clocking in at a grand total of two miles out and back, this waterfall trail in Ohio can easily be completed within an hour or two. It’s rated as “easy” on AllTrails due to little elevation gain, but it can be challenging to hike after rainfall.
Lynore Risher/AllTrails As such, be prepared for mud, roots, and rocks, and stay on the main dirt trail. Markings can be hard to spot, so pay attention to your surroundings and don’t wander too far. Dress and plan accordingly!
Less than a half-mile into the trail, you’ll encounter the main waterfall. You could always stop here and walk back to the trailhead if you don’t have the time.
Jennifer Thomas/AllTrails Of course, we recommend exploring the creek and gorge further. This is an immensely beautiful area of the Buckeye State that’s well-worth exploring!
The trail is open year-round, so coming back when the weather is cooler will give you a different view of the surrounding falls and scenic creek.

Waterfalls near me March 21, 2022 Sarah M. What are some easy-access waterfalls near me in Ohio? No matter where you hail from in the Buckeye State, you’re sure to be near one of the state’s many waterfalls – even the easy-access ones! If you’re looking for a picturesque waterfall that doesn’t take a lot of time and energy to find, the following five are some of our favorite, easily accessible waterfalls in the Buckeye State. One of our favorite falls on the list is Hayden Falls in Dublin. This park features a truly unique natural ecosystem, rare plants and animals, and a 35-foot waterfall along the western shore of the Scioto River. The gorge where the falls are located features a boardwalk and overlook area, making the waterfall easily accessible to visitors. Perhaps one of the most easily accessible waterfalls in Ohio is Chagrin Falls, located in, well, Chagrin Falls, Ohio. (This charming town is actually named after the falls of the Chagrin River … not the falls!) Chagrin Falls flows in the heart of the town, which was established in 1845. Finally, Paine Falls Park in Leroy Township is an underrated metropark in Ohio with a gorgeous waterfall that’s easily accessible. You can practically drive right up to these falls, which are located less than a quarter of a mile away from the designated parking area. The falls feature multiple tiers that create beautiful cascades. After heavy rainfall, the falls flow strong and powerful, making this waterfall in Ohio a popular springtime destination!
