Every state has some strange laws, but I would argue that Texas has some of the weirdest. To be honest, I’m not sure how these ordinances ever got passed. You probably won’t get busted for doing any of these strange things in Texas, but you’ll get a good laugh out of reading them. Because of the weird laws in Texas, it’s illegal to do the following 12 things.
- Selling your eye.
flickr/Sam Bald Darn, there goes my plan to get rich.
- Milking someone else’s cow.
Flickr/state_library_south_australia
- Taking more than three sips of beer while standing up.
Flickr/toyohara I think it’s safe to say we’re all criminals.
- Shooting buffalo from a second story window.
Flickr/kewing Just stay on the first floor and you’re good. You’ll have better aim that way, anyway.
- In Clarendon, it is a crime to dust a public building with a feather duster.

- Selling Limburger cheese on Sunday.
Flickr/sqwertz I guess every grocery store in Texas is guilty.
- Eating someone’s garbage without their permission.
Flickr/mikeywally
- In Port Arthur, it’s illegal to emit obnoxious odors in an elevator.
Flickr/Aaron
- It is illegal to drive without windshield wipers, though a windshield itself is not required.
Flickr/hartwell
- In Galveston, inhaling fumes from model glue is a crime.

- In Mesquite, children are not permitted to have unusual haircuts.
Flickr/neff
- In Richardson, all U-Turns are illegal.

How ridiculous are these 12 laws? Do you know of anything else strange in Texas that’s illegal? If so, let us know in the comments below.
