With more than 250 known waterfalls in the state of West Virginia, it’s nearly impossible to narrow it down to the one waterfall that’s the most easily accessible. But, if not the most easily accessible, the mill falls at Cook’s Old Mill is certainly one of the most easily accessible waterfalls in West Virginia! Hidden away as it is behind the mill, it’s a sight that not many have seen, despite how easy it is to access.
Cook’s Old Mill is a historic complex tucked away in serene Greenville, West Virginia. The current mill building was constructed in 1857, but the mill’s foundation was built even earlier than that, all the way back in 1796.

Access to this cascade is as easy as it gets: park on the lower side of the mill and cross a beautiful wooden bridge over a tributary of Indian Creek. The falls is located just a hop, skip, and a jump above the bridge.

Alternatively, park above the mill, near the log cabin, and walk down the gravel path past the forge to the grassy area around the back side of the mill building.
