You won’t believe the adventure packed into this short and sweet little hike!

Lindsey Ogle/AllTrails It’s called 3 Falls Trail, and it’s got exactly that: at least a few waterfalls that range from a mere trickle during drier times to full-on cascades in times of more rainfall.

The trail is amazing, and there’s a lot to look at packed into just under a mile of wandering.

Carol Spires/AllTrails It’s clearly marked with orange arrows and is fairly easy to follow. Just make sure to remain aware of your surroundings and don’t allow yourself to wander off the trail - we know it’s tempting, but avoid the urge! It’s much safer that way.

The trail is open year-round, and for the spring and summer months, it’s a lush, green paradise waiting to be explored.

Julie Farison/AllTrails During autumn, the changing colors of the surrounding foliage make for a romantic, dreamlike scene, and during the winter, the frozen waterfalls make for a fairytale-like setting.

If you’ve never seen a frozen waterfall in person, it’s something you ought to add to your bucket list ASAP.

Valerie Litznerski/AllTrails 3 Falls Trail is the perfect trail for a nice, brisk cold-weather hike, or for a lazy springtime trek through all the new foliage as it peeks out between melting patches of snow. It’s great for all skill levels and is easy enough to bring the kids along.

Once you reach the water, we suspect that, like us, you’ll want to stay awhile.

Daniel Garrett/AllTrails It’s one of those “hidden gem” types of trails, and it’s not as crowded as you might think while looking at photos of the hike. It’s absolutely beautiful and, should you time your trip correctly, you can have it all to yourself.

We suggest arriving early in the morning at some point during the week.

Ashli Spaulding/AllTrails The weekend sees the most foot traffic on 3 Falls Trail, so your best bet is to come when you know almost everyone else is busy (or at work). It’s well worth playing hooky for a day to go explore! And trust us, if your timing is good - you are in for the shortest, coolest hike you’ve ever been on.

We’re pretty confident that this delightfully short hike in Indiana can easily become one of your favorites!
